Thank you to the USVI crew! We just finished our 4th year in a row chartering with them. Communications were good, boat worked as advertised, and getting off and back on the dock was smooth. We really appreciate your personalized service. Makes us feel like we are coming home when we arrive on the dock, and sad to leave, when it’s time to go home.

Best catamaran rental experience I have ever experienced in the USVI and BVI. Done this trip 3 times in my lifetime and this bu fae was the best experience. Starting with there portal where you can see everything about your booking, then the Marina when you arrive has everything you need from clean showers to places to eat nearby. The catamaran was in excellent condition and clean with fully equipped kitchen and navigation essential to staying days on the water comfortably. We did 10 days without any issues, everything on the boat is top quality and efficient. Can’t wait to go back. Be sure to ask any questions that you have, this company will treat you like family.

We just finished our first bareboat charter with Waypoints in USVI. What an excellent group, professional, friendly, helpful and most importantly well maintained boat! We were on a 4 year old Fountaine Pajout Elba 45. Everything worked. Last oil change marked on the engines, water maker, generator, ice maker all performed perfectly. Also fun to sail massive mainsail ( compared to the Bali we chartered last year with another company) Also great briefing before taking off and the most thorough post charter checkout I have experienced( eg raising all sails to check for damage) if I had a boat in a charter program they would be my choice. Thanks again from captain Bye and his most excellent crew, we had a great time!

We booked a charter with Waypoints on Feeling Knotty in December 2025, and it was a great experience. The boat was relatively new and showed very few dings or scuffs. The equipment matched the listed inventory. Our only inconvenience was the absence of grilling utensils on board. One thing that was odd was that the winches could not be reached directly from the helm. The system worked much better with two people—one maintaining course and the other trim. Feeling Knotty sailed extremely well. We were able to sail high into the wind and maintained good speed off the wind. We only needed to use the engines when entering or leaving anchorages. We did use quite a bit of diesel. Because of the humidity, we tended to close up the boat and turn on the AC as soon as we anchored. The separate AC units in each cabin were very popular with the crew. The U.S. Virgin Islands were wonderful in December—beautiful scenery, good wind, and uncrowded anchorages. One thing that surprised us was that snorkeling around St. John was not as impressive as we expected. Some of the underwater areas did not look very healthy. However, Buck Island off St. Thomas offered truly outstanding snorkeling. Before the trip, I was a little concerned that we wouldn’t find restaurants comparable to Saba Rock or Cooper Island in the BVIs. But that worry turned out to be unfounded. We found good places to eat every night. Even when they weren’t upscale, the food was always enjoyable. I would like to offer a special shout-out to Alexandra and Larry “the dock guy.” Everything on land went smoothly. Check in was straightforward, the boat orientation was thorough, and we were off the mooring in good time. Our return was just as easy, with no aggravation getting off the boat and to the airport.

We recently enjoyed a 10-day charter in the USVI. We sailed May 20-30, 2025. It took a few weeks to write this review because we were only home for a few days before we flew to Bermuda and sailed a boat back to Norfolk. That took a week+ and we have been slow readjusting to life back on land. We have chartered with Waypoints many times, mostly in St. Petersburg. We have come to expect high standards and great service. This trip did not disappoint. From the first contact with their booking agent until the time we loaded up the taxi that they arranged to get us back to the airport, it was apparent that they employ great people who enjoy and take pride in what they do. We love Waypoints for their meticulously maintained boats with high end features that are not found on boats in the typical charter fleet. We like spacious cabins and ample storage space. We don’t like packing as many people as possible on board in cramped conditions. We like in-mast furling, electric winches, gas BBQ grills, ample refrigeration, and the other creature comforts that turn a camping trip on a boat into relaxing yacht charter. We appreciate the attention to detail that their maintenance and dock crews display. While we still got off the dock an hour ahead of what I anticipated, we waited a few extra minutes because the dinghy motor was idling too low and needed to be adjusted. I would much rather take a few minutes to make sure that everything is right rather than being rushed off the dock and left to fend for ourselves. We did have one minor equipment issue while on the trip. The propane solenoid failed in the closed position, leaving us without propane for the stove or grill. As anyone who has sailed knows, if this is all that breaks during a 10-day trip, life is good. I follow the old sailor adage that everything on your boat is broken, you just don’t know it yet. What impressed me about this experience was the service provided in making the repair. A technician met us in Red Hook at 8:30 am, a time of my choosing. This saved us from sailing back to Frenchtown Marina and nearly eliminated any impact on our intended itinerary. Not only did the technician come to a location that was convenient for us at a time of our choosing, he completed the repair in a matter of minutes, and was cheerful (more than I would be starting work early and on the opposite end of the island). This would have been more than enough by any standards. However, he wasn’t finished yet. One of our guests forgot to get a pair of snorkel fins before we left the base. The technician brought along a pair of fins for her. This level of service has become standard for Waypoints. At this point it should not surprise me, but it still does. I could go on but I will limit my comments to the coordination with other service providers that may be of interest to potential customers. The assistance that I received from the charter base with coordinating provisioning and dive gear rental was phenomenal. We placed a large provisioning order with Time Saver VI. We arrived at the base early to find all of the items already aboard, unpacked, and stowed. The level of care with which this was done was unexpected. After a long travel day, I can’t relay the pleasure of cracking open a nice iced down beverage as opposed to making our way to the grocery store. Additionally, while we brought our own dive gear, we rented tanks, tank racks, and weights from Admiralty Dive Center. Again, when we arrived early, we found all of the gear had been delivered to the boat. back to my earlier comment, nothing would have ruined my iced down beverage quite like hauling dive tanks and weights down the dock. Lastly, when we arrived home and found a postcard from the charter base waiting for us. It made us smile…nice touch. I thank Waypoints for all that they do. I am sure that we only see a fraction of the work that goes into running a charter company at this level of service. We are thankful that we found Waypoints and look forward to our next visit.
