We have chartered a monohull bareboat for two weeks, early January 2026. We recommend the entire staff of the Dream Yacht Charter staff at Palm Cay Marina, Nassau, Bahamas. In particular we note the leadership of Pietro Chessa, and also his team, notably Alex, Tiffany, Jorge, Lazarro, Captain Kaylin, Ryan, Rochad, JR and Captain Max. Their response time, big smiles, passion and courtesy with which they each addressed any topic, was exemplary and made our vacation all the much nicer! Thank you DYC team!

Based on the mixed reviews, I was a little apprehensive to book through DYC but was pleasantly surprised by our experience. For context, I was the skipper with previous experience booking bareboat charters. On this tour, we were a group of 7 booking a bareboat Bali 4.4 in August 2025. Upon arrival, DYC upgraded us to a Bali 4.6 due to an ongoing generator replacement on the original boat. The onsite staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs and gave good briefings. We had a fantastic tour in the Exumas and around Nassau, despite winds not being favored in this time of year. In regards to other reviews of this DYC location, it’s possible we were lucky but from my perspective, some of these other reviewers seem to be exaggerating or whining. I get the impression they may not know what they are getting themselves into on a boat charter. Boats have a lot of equipment and things often break. If you expect 100% perfection, you’re going to have a bad time. So my advice is to reset your expectations, treat staff with respect if you encounter issues and be prepared to troubleshoot because that’s what a charter is all about!

Just got back from a week long boat rental (Bali 44) and loved it. We took the boat ourselves and had a great time. The boat was in great shape with only a few minor hiccups. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful except for the lady at the front desk. She had the "Couldn't be bothered" attitude. I felt like I was annoying her each time I walked in the door. She kept telling us she was sending someone over to the boat and after a couple hours and checking in with her again, we still needed to grab someone ourselves.

Overall the boat is worn out and poorly maintained Main Sail is defective. The main sail failed immediately after leaving the marina unable to sail for 3 days After an initial repair, the following 3 days the main sail is only partially functional as a batten is still missing The reefing line was missing Water is dripping from a crack in the hatch above the bed There was strong diesel smell in the cabin for 2 days, then bad smell is coming from leaking toilet Generator is exceedingly noisy and is causing strong vibrations on the bed Batteries don’t hold the charge sounding the alarm early morning and requiring to run the generator during the night or early in the morning (5 am, 6 am) which is a breach of contract Fishing gear is clunky Lifeline gate is left occasionally open under way Captain is keeping an attitude and never apologized for missing the boat equipment and gear verification before departure resulting in mainsail failure Lack of food options , snacks, desserts are sketchy, food inconsistent in quality and quantity with ups and downs Sorry for paying a hefty price for substandard service and failing equipment Dream Yacht Charters is to be avoided for any future trips Positive The boat stays afloat

Excellent communication since day one. Eliane Bies went above and beyond answering ALL my questions for months and I mean it, there were LOTS of them! Always responded in a timely, respectful and joyful manner, enticing us even more to charter from them. A few days before embarkation day, my initial boat had some repairs to be done and they sent me an email informing about the upgraded boat. (From a Bali 4.0 to a Lagoon 450F). Great upgrade and knowing that you are chartering a mechanical piece, it is understandable that some things can unexpectedly change. DYC was very responsible in the upgrade. The staff: AMAZINGLY GREAT!!! I have no words to appreciate enough Tyson (200% out of 100%) went over every detail and answered ALL my questions I had written in advance. He even appreciated that I had them all! What an Amazing human being!!! The rigging guy, Stanley (if I remember correctly) went over all the rigging and even set some preferences beforehand! Isn't that giving the extra mile?. Justin, the chart briefer, obviously knows his stuff. My crew was my wife and daughters so I asked everything you can imagine in regards to safety While sailing Exumas... Wonderful briefing!!! Matt, the marina manager happened to be around at my departure and was kind enough to get to work and help us to get the shorepower and lines off and into the boat while asking how everything was going with interest. Did the same thing when we arrived. Amazing attention! While sailing south, the only inconvenient we had was with the VHF radio (again, these are mechanical issues that could happen in your own well care taken boat), and since I had no cell phone service, we headed to Norman's Cay Marina and started sending texts to Tyson. Even when other boaters said: "Good luck if someone answers" this guy was Super responsible and as soon as my messages got out with the intermittent signal, for our pleasant surprise, Tyson responded, looked for a way to contact the Dockmaster and get in touch with me! Dian was Also in contact finding ways to make sure I was able to continue my journey. When returning we met another Wonderful human being, Captain Ray at the fuel dock (also with two very respectful gentlemen attending it), and got into our charter to dock it. While aboard, he gave us some great insights of where to go on our next trip (which we are already planning to do with DYC, if prices are within our reach, of course!) At the end, everything went smoothly as just returning the informational book given to me the 1st day and head to the airport. The cleaning crew was already awaiting for us in order to set everything as we found it the 1st day, GREAT! What this company has, that made this a PERFECT vacation, is their staff! I hope to see you all again really soon and sorry if I forgot to mention anyone who collaborated to make these, an Unforgettable Charter Vacations!
